The AGM is a free yearly event for members to come and hear about important updates from the Association. In addition we are very excited to welcome a speaker who lives all the way in Portland, Oregon to discuss the path to regulation for Doulas, as told from the first group to push it though in their state (the good, the bad and the ugly).
When: October 23rd, 10am to 2pm (lunch included)
Where: Toronto Fairview Library, 35 Fairview Mall Drive, Toronto, ON M2J 4S4 (and virtual option available for those who can't make it in person - no need to pre-register for virtual option)
Who: all current members are welcome to join us
Jesse Remer of the Association of Oregon Doulas will be sharing the recent history of regulation in the state. Jesse will review how and why Doulas were regulated in Oregon, how it happened and how it’s going now. She’ll go over some of the stats of how regulation has impacted doula work and the pros and cons of regulation.
Given the AODs recent Registered Doula of Ontario designation we’re eager to learn about similar projects in other areas of the world.
